The One with the Xterra

I have a new Xterra! I LOVE it! The lease on my old one was up so, last night I turned it in and bought a new one. They have added alot of features since 2001, and my new Xterra is alot more luxe. It's amazing how happy simple things like mirrors on the visors can make me. I also have steering wheel radio controls, an in dash 6 cd changer, crusie control, a compass on the rear view mirror, and my personal favorite, it tells me how many miles I have til empty! I got those little Beabie Babies at McDonald's a long, long time ago, and they move with me to each new car. Every vehicle I have owned has been green, so I was determined to get another color this time. I went with a very dark gray. They call it night armor, I call it charcoal.

This is my first car that is solely in my name, and my mother is very excited. My first car was bought when I was a senior in high school and had no credit, so it was in her name. My second was after college when I had bad credit because of all those damn credit cards they throw at you in college, so she had to cosign with me. Now, I have no credit cards and have improved my credit. A cell phone and a car in my name! I feel so grown up! Next, I will have to get a house, but give me a few more years.

The cd player in my old Xterra was broken, and I am very excited about trying my new one out. I bought 3 new cd's today for the occasion: Greenday, Kelly Clarkson, and Faith Hill. Yes, my music tastes are very eclectic. I can't wait to listen to them tomorrow. I will be driving down the road in my gas guzzler blaring American Idiot! Normally I dread the 4 hour drive to Nac, but now I'm looking forward to it.

Speaking of, this school year marks ten years since I graduated from high school. So, this weekend I am going to the homecoming game in Nac. My mother is completely clueless about electronics and does not have a computer, so I won't be posting again this week. I also won't be able to read anyone's blog. I have become such a blogaholic, I don't know how I will be able to go cold turkey. I will miss you all! While I am gone, I have a special assignment for you. I always name my vehicles and need help deciding on a name for this one. I thought about Stormy because of the color, but I once had a cat with this name. What do you think?

I'd go with something really cool like: The One with Stealth

Congrats on being a big girl now. Wierd huh! PS I love my rearview mirror compass (it also has a temperature doohickie). I wish I had steering wheel radio controls.

Wow! Nice car! I used to have a 6 cd player, but I had to get rid of the car that it was in. I miss it so! But it's exciting that you will have one...you'll love it!

Btw, Michele sent me!

I am so jealous, Lish. My truck is 6 years and 5 months old--and I'm so tired of it! The Xterra looks beautiful and I love that color.

How about Graf for a name? It sounds rugged and stems from graphite, a mineral that's gray.

The car looks like an Olive to me. I'm not sure why.

What's Nac?

Nac is short for Nacogdoches, my hometown.

Congrats on the car. My daughter is about your age and will soon be trading in the car I cosigned for , and buying one in her name alone. Quite the accomploshment.
